a lot of good quality speakers have tall rubber or foam surrounds and the plastic nissan covers will end up sitting on a portion of the surround, thus causing the cone to move incorrectly which could cause damage to the voice coil, not to mention sounding terrible. Not all speakers are effected by this, my Infinity Reference speakers just barely touch and at high volume you can hear the cone smacking the plastic cover. I'd recommend getting the ebay adapters as they sit lower than the top of the 90 enclosures, however they are not a air tight fit so the bass will be lacking unless you seal the two pieces with something like silicone caulk. Just my .02
